What is Koutetsu?
The name Koutetsu is derived from the battleship known as the Koutetsu-kan, which was covered in armor. In Japan, it refers to an actual battleship also known as the Higashi-kan.
Koutetsu is a design that resulted from pursuing everything required of a knife.
It was not originally created with a battleship in mind. The shape ensures that power is distributed throughout from the heel to the tip, the tip responds exactly as intended, the index finger rests naturally on the spine, and the handle fits comfortably in the hand. After countless adjustments, the ideal shape for a knife emerged.
