The history of our workshop began in 1928 when the first generation, Kintaro Kato, began making forged knives.

We are committed to an integrated production system where all processes are completed in our own workshop, and each knife is carefully crafted. During the production process, we carefully repeat processes such as firing, forging, and polishing while checking with our own eyes, until one knife is completed.

This honest craftsmanship results in the creation of unique knives that are imbued with special emotion.

Our workshop opened in 1938, when 1st-generation Kintaro Kato started making forged knives.

We are committed to an integrated production system. All processes are completed in our own workshop. We carefully make items one by one. In the manufacturing process, each knife is completed by repeated heating, forging, and polishing under the scrutiny of a hard, naked eye. Through this honest craftsmanship, we create cutlery that is unique and special.
