Who is Kyohei Shindo?
Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, he graduated from a university in Okinawa and moved to Kochi Prefecture with the desire to "make knives as tools." At the time, there were no blacksmiths taking on apprentices, and no system for training successors, so he joined a wholesale company of Tosa cutlery. He borrowed part of a blacksmith's shop, which was a client company, on weekends and began his own training. He gradually honed his skills as a forging craftsman and became independent in 2019 as Kyohei Forging. We strive to create knives that people will choose even if it requires a lot of effort to maintain, that are sharp and easy to sharpen, and that can be used by a wide range of people around the world.
