Who is Kyohei Shindo?
Originally from Sapporo, Hokkaido. After graduating from a university in Okinawa, he moved to Kochi Prefecture with the desire to "make knives as tools." At the time, there were no blacksmiths willing to take on apprentices, nor were there any systems for training successors, so he joined a wholesale company for Tosa cutlery. He began his own training by borrowing part of a blacksmith's shop, which was a client, on his days off. He gradually honed his skills as a forging craftsman, and in 2019, he became independent under the name "Kyohei Tanzo." He works hard on making knives with the desire to make knives that are easy to sharpen, sharp enough to be chosen even if it takes time and effort to maintain, and that can be used by a wide range of people around the world.
