What is Kotetsu?
The name "Koutetsu" comes from the name of a warship called "Koutetsukan," which is covered entirely in armor. In Japan, it refers to a real warship also known as "Toushin."
The design of Kotetsu is the result of pursuing everything that is desired in a knife.
It wasn't originally created with the image of an ironclad warship in mind. The shape allows pressure to be distributed evenly from the base to the tip of the blade, the desired movement is transmitted to the tip of the blade, the feeling of placing your index finger on the ridge, and the familiar feeling when holding the handle. After repeated adjustments, this shape was finally determined to be what was desired for a knife.
Please try out the sharpness of the Kotetsu knife, which can easily cut through paper and tough raw carrots.
Product outline
This is a knife from our own brand, "Kotetsu."
Kotetsu is our first brand, which was created by continuing to pursue functional beauty in all aspects of the material, shape, and ease of use. Aiming to create a knife that cuts just the way you want it to, we thoroughly eliminated all unnecessary elements, and Kotetsu was born.
The Kotetsu Type 3 has a cutting style appearance that is closer to that of an ordinary kitchen knife. Stainless steel knives are resistant to rust, and are easy to maintain and very easy to use at home, but some discerning craftsmen prefer carbon steel knives, and this is the knife for them.
It can be used as a Santoku knife with its standard length. Because the tip is thin, it can also be used to cut meat and fish, making it an excellent knife that can be used for a variety of cooking purposes.
Aogami Super, known as the pinnacle of steel, is characterized by its sharpness and long-lasting cutting ability.
Steel will rust, but if you take care of it, it can last a long time.
What is Aogami Super Steel?
It is one of the Yasugi steels produced by Hitachi Metals, and while Aogami steel and Shirogami steel are often used for blades, Aogami Super Steel is the most expensive and is said to be the pinnacle of steel. It is a popular steel material that has excellent toughness, hardness, and wear resistance, and is comparable in hardness to high-speed stainless steel.
