What is Kotetsu?
The name "Koutetsu" comes from the name of a warship called "Koutetsukan," which is covered entirely in armor. In Japan, it refers to a real warship also known as "Toushin."
The design of Kotetsu is the result of pursuing everything that is desired in a knife.
It wasn't originally created with the image of an ironclad warship in mind. The shape allows pressure to be distributed evenly from the base to the tip of the blade, the desired movement is transmitted to the tip of the blade, the feeling of placing your index finger on the ridge, and the familiar feeling when holding the handle. After repeated adjustments, this shape was finally determined to be what was desired for a knife.

This is a knife from our own brand, "Kotetsu."
Kotetsu is our first brand, which was created by continuing to pursue functional beauty in all aspects of the material, shape, and ease of use. Aiming to create a knife that cuts just the way you want it to, we thoroughly eliminated all unnecessary elements, and Kotetsu was born.
The Battleship is a knife that is easy to use when cutting by rolling the blade, like the crescent or half-moon knives found in Europe. However, compared to the specialized European knives, the curve of the blade is more subtle so that it can be used in the same way as a regular kitchen knife.
I think it can also be used as a substitute for a Santoku or Gyuto knife.
The steel used is SG2 powder high speed steel, which is resistant to rust and requires simple maintenance.
