Who is Kageura Ken?

The knives made by Kageura Masaru are one-of-a-kind. Old, unused tools such as hoes, saws, and sickles are melted down and forged, and then folded and forged again and again to create Kageura's unique Damascus pattern. This Damascus wood is then forged with blue paper steel to create the material for the knife, using time-honored techniques. The handles and sheaths are also made from materials carefully selected by Kageura, and are all handmade. Each knife is painstakingly crafted with meticulous care and meticulous handwork, breathing new life into unused tools and scrap materials. They are wonderful as both works of art and tools, and are precious masterpieces that only Kageura could create.
